Data transmission under protocol IEC60870-5-104 to an operator of electricity distribution network via HMS SG-gateway with I/O interface.
HMS's IXXAT SG gateways are designed for Smart Grid communication and target Demand Response and Virtual Power Plant applications.
They support IEC60870-5-104, DNP3 and IEC61850 protocols used in the energy sector, which allows for direct connection to the control system of the electricity distribution network operator.
The SG-gateway provides connection to the available electric field equipment via Ethernet and / or serial port using Modbus TCP or RTU protocols. As an option, the gateway can be equipped with 3G modem.
The device is easily programmable using a built-in intuitive graphic web editor and a language close to IEC61131 specification.
On the picture below a solution is presented for data transmission to an operator of electricity distribution network (CEZ Distribution Bulgaria AD).
The data transmitted comes from one gas corrector, 2 heat meters and one generator. The transmission of the data to the network operator’s control system is carried out under protocol IEC60870-5-104, using the built-in 3G modem.
The analog signals from the generator and one of the heat meters go to the PLC, and from there to the gateway via MODBUS TCP/IP protocol.
The signals from the second heat meter and the gas corrector are submitted directly to the gateway via RS485 and Modbus RTU.
